Stop drinking. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that’s due to asbestos exposure. The long run consequences of this crisis will be felt for years by residents of the Big Apple who lived and worked in the area. There are two main types of carcinoma which are classified according to the size and display of the carcenogenic cells. After a biopsy has been taken ( which removes part of the tissue believed to be carcenogenic ), a lab expert, known as a histopathologist, places the biopsy sample under a microscope and is able to figure out whether cancer is present and whether or not it is non-small cell or tiny cell cancer. The previous accounts for the bulk of lung cancers ( eighty percent ) but whatever classification is accorded, it is critical because different treatment regimens are way more effective at treating the differing sorts ( note that there are more classifications but these two are the major ones ). Whether a patient is female and whether or not they have smoked or not will identify different treatment trails for them under this class. Tiny cell lung cancer ( SCLC ) is far less common and often presents itself in the bigger airways ( the bronchi ), but while less common they’re sadly, much more assertive.
